Saturday January 22, 2011: The Pierce's & Tamworth

Last night, we arrived at the Pierce’s (Adam's Rotary Hosts) just after 6 pm and had dinner and got the kids to bed. Then talked until the wee hours of the morning. The Pierce’s live in the old “Tollhouse” . It was where you stopped to pay your tolls. The original house was built in the 17th century. There are beams that are from the original structure still in the house (from the 1600’s). It was an amazing house with a very updated internal structure.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Brian caught a cold. Could be due to licking just about everything that he could get his mouth on. J
This morning I woke up and for breakfast up and for breakfast up and for breakfast had fresh eggs from Alan’s chickens. Visited the chickens and saw the lovely gardens. The kids liked the chickens and loved running in the garden.

Then we popped into Tamworth to visit the Tamworth castle. It was there very first castle. Alexandra and Brian seemed to enjoy the castle. Alexandra even dressed up in a few costumes. After the castle, we visited Tamworth. Alexandra and Brian had their first “Chicken Bakes” and sausage roll (yes to the chicken bake; no to the sausage roll). Then we found Chocolate Snowmen (just like Easter bunnies but snowmen. They were very tasty. Lastly we ran around a local playground.

Again home for dinner and talking until the wee-hours of the morning.
